  • You must have a bachelor’s degree in any field of study, not limited to education, to be trained at our Center.

  • You must pass a criminal background check.


  • You will be expected to write lesson plans.

  • You will tutor two students for one clinical hour each, one-on-one, twice per week on site.

  • You will successfully complete all requirements on the Requirements for Certification Form to demonstrate mastery of the Orton-Gillingham approach.

  • You will participate in 50 training hours and a minimum of 100 supervised practicum hours. See course outline and calendar for current dates.
  • You will be observed a minimum of 10 times and be provided with written and oral feedback which you will be expected to apply to future lessons. Observations will receive a letter grade.

How much will the training cost?

  • You are required to purchase your textbooks for the course which will be used in both class instruction and lesson planning.
